John Larribeau

We laid our father ENC John Larribeau USN to rest today together with his wife Geraldine. The ceremony was dignified and performed with the utmost respect, dignity and military precision. My family and I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the perfect final tribute to our father and mother. LCDR John D. Larribeau USN, RET

You don't buy plots in National cemeteries. If you meet the criteria listed here: http://www.gmasw.com/vet_cem.htm you are eligible for burial in any National cemetery, provided it is not full. Your spouse is also eligible to be buried in the same plot with you (stacked).

Why doesn't this location offer a Rifle Salute? I have been to dozens of Veterans ceremonies over various states and this was the first service where a veteran did not receive a rifle salute. Why?

They do. The family has to make the request either through the mortuary or the cemetery office when the veteran is registered. My husband had one in September.

Do they have cremation plots there at the cemetery also can my wife be put there with me? And how can I get an application for the plots ?

William Owens | Sep 21, 2019

Yes, there is a section for the cremated. Yes, they can put your wife in with you. You can apply at the office near the plots. In the building on the left side of the road. Bring your DD-214 also. You might be able to get the forms online.

On Monday, November 12th, I saw a penny on each headstone on the graves on the upper level. Not just a few either. What is the significance and who put them there?
