If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve honestly debated on event writing this, but our experience was so negative I finally decided to. We were referred here by our warranty company, and it was an absolute nightmare. Waited weeks to get in, and that’s fine, but even after dropping our car off at our appointment it still took a week before they even looked at it. We brought it in for two things- a full inspection as our extended warranty had expired, and an axel replacement covered under a part warranty. We had already had the problem diagnosed by another shop in town, but unfortunately they were not in network with our part warranty. When family Autocare finally looked, they stated they had no idea what was causing the noise, (again, we already had a claim with the part warranty- and had emailed over the information) and that they could replace the axel but that they weren’t sure it was the problem, nor could they determine what was the problem. Through all of this, I primarily had been handling the communication. My husband goes to pick the car up, and the guy at the counter stated he felt bad charging us since they didn’t diagnose anything, and waived the $100 inspection, but still charged us $150 to NOT diagnosis the problem. The guy stated he didn’t know that was a warranty when my husband stated he was pretty annoyed but said he would look into it and call him back. Ironically, the paperwork we were given had the warranties both documented. He calls my husband the next day to say he’s sorry, didn’t realize there was already a claim and that the part was ordered, stated there would be no charge to us and to bring the car in next week. We bring it in, they do the replacement and then refused to refund the $150 diagnosis, which is suppose to be covered by the parts and labor warranty. The lady says she would call us, never did. At this point we cut our losses. The sound immediately comes back within two days, took it to our usual shop, and family auto care did not properly torque the bolt and washer to factory and thankfully our shop fixed it with ease. I would rather walk to work in the blistering sun than ever take my car there again.

My fiancée worked here at family auto for a few years, He and later I learned that this mom and pop shop was very genuine, fair priced and family oriented. I continue even after my fiancée moved on from family auto as does he to bring our vehicles here. Sean is very informative, communicates and is hard working. I recently brought my Ford Explorer in for a 29 point inspection which is a very large inspection. I got good news and was informed of things I should take care of in the order of importance. The quote really wasn’t to bad. I then came back two weeks later to receive a trans drain and fill and they completed that in a very timely manner, no issues. I came in to pay after the service was done and I was greeted by his lovely wife and we held a very genuine funny conversation! I highly recommend family auto! Give them a call!

Yes it is!
Yes we perform maintenance inspection and repairs on manual and automatic transmissions. If a complete rebuild is required, we do not make that repair. However, we have a fantastic transmission shop, or a supplier who does an amazing job as well.
