Great little walk out on the headlands. There are some trails leading down to sandy beaches, some historical aspects, and neat rock formations. Beautiful sunsets in the evening as well, especially since you can park your car facing the ocean and stay inside and warm while watching. It was quite windy when we visited, so definitely have a windbreaker handy. But it's the ocean, and this is fully expected.

The Mendocino Headlands State Park is okay. Went in here to catch the sun set. There were only a few vehicles parked at the various vista spots in the park. You have to trek some distance to reach the actual beach. Good views. But the lack of signs really marred the whole experience.

You can charge nearby at Russian Gultch State Park which has a beach and one of their hiking trails goes out to the Headlands.
No, they don't have one in Mendocino woodland.
No, I wouldn't recommend that. It's right by the road, there are no closed off or secluded places where you'd be able to camp.
