Let me start by saying the staff and pool area and bar area are amazing. This is a very old dated hotel. Nothing resort about it. Rooms have no AC and carpets are filthy I mean like unhealthy not safe filthy. I took shower and was in my room for a few hours barefoot and the bottoms of my feet were black. My room was dark and dirty and even had exposed wires from broken lamps. Broken bathroom window and non working secondary locks on doors. I brought my concerns to front desk with pictures... and the owner told me they don't have time to clean rooms so don't look down and wear shoes. I was there for 3 nights never felt safe. There is no outside lights by rooms or parking lot and no way to lock doors completely.

While we were grateful to find an opening the week before 4th of July weekend, we would have been better off hanging out in the Reno/Carson area. It is obvious that there are many patrons that have returned for multiple years (tradition?) and will continue to return but that was not our experience. Check in was quick but dismissive. The room was small (2 doubles) and the carpet was disgusting. I kept my flip-flops on the entire time. There is a great pool and hot tub but you must pass through the "lodge" that plays FoxNews 24/7 to get to it. Graeagle is a lovely little town and gateway to the beautiful Lakes Basin but keep looking if you want comfortable lodging with attentive customer service.

This is our second time staying here and we love it! It’s very old school (you actually open your room door with a key!) but that’s what gives it its charm. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Reno is only an hour away. Ladies, the only drawback (if you consider it a drawback) is you need to bring your own shampoo/conditioner, only soap is provided. Where most big name hotels provide a blow dryer and a clothes iron, this one does not. We drive here so packing those things is not a deterrent for us. Lots of lakes and hiking trails nearby, fun for everyone and we’ll definitely be back!

We are having such a blast here! The kids are happy and mom and dad are relaxed! What!?! That never happens! The pool and facilities are lovely, the staff is friendly, patrons are kind, rooms are clean and it's gorgeous here! What's not to love?
