Rude, this location hasnt been open for 15 minutes yet (Sept 1, 22) and the heavy set light skin woman at the last counter on the right is extremely disrespectful and needs training on how to speak and treat a customer. Simply asking a question led to her rolling her eyes and telling my husband to "get out of her office". Waiting in line for 30 minutes to recieve this type of treatment is unacceptable.

Yes you do. Whoever's name is on the Title for the vehicle must be Insured. You can also ask for a Non-Owner Policy, then you don't need it to be on there. Now, You should make sure that your Insurance company will cover anyone who you give permission to drive your car is covered. This is sooo Important .I hope and pray that this helps you. You need to get the form (available from the VA or a county VSO) signed with proof (ex VA rating letter) and then bring it into the License Plate Agency.

It's very expensive here in NC, but proof of insurance, proof of residency and you have to get a vehicle inspection and of course your driver's license.
Do they take credit cards for payment? I’m trying to transfer my tags to NC from NY and they told me it would be $350.

On drivers license, no. Once a driver's license is updated, the name on a car title can be changed here as a title correction which will produce a corrected registration card.
