My favorite park in Raleigh. It's no where near my house but if I'm going to take my dog on a walk thats not in my neighborhood this is one of two places I go regularly. I love the walking trails and it's very peaceful.

Very nice, maintained nature area.

We were here for 30 minutes and our vehicle window was busted and our items were stolen. Do not recommend.

There are trails, a large pond, a butterfly garden and meadow, picnic shelters, a pier to go fishing, and a demonstration turtle habitat. My dogs and I love coming here on the weekends, and runners and walkers share the trails. There are benches for sitting, and enough nooks and crannies for landscape and close up photography. There is also an event space that I have seen others using for weddings. Lots of deer, if you are quiet enough, and at least one great blue heron if you are there early enough.

It is for walking but you cannot take your car in and park there. There is no staff on site for holidays either.
There are tables but it's a bit of a walk down a gravel path. Perhaps not great for those that are unsteady.
6 miles of trails if you were walk/run each one. It's a smaller figure 8 inside a larger figure 8
Fishing restricted to the docks. They permit check. Hours 7am-6pm
