Quiet spot near the stream with good fishing! Wasn’t camping there but checked out the area for a future trip! Did catch and release some Trout

I just love being out in the mountains...trails were great...found a beautiful spot by the river to build a fire and just chill...Beautiful

Beautiful campground. The online reservation system either doesn’t work, or people will wipe your name off the dry erase reservation card (located at each site) if they show up early and you’re not there yet. This happened to us (our name wasn’t on the card even though I had multiple confirmation emails from recreation.gov) and we heard from other campers it happened to someone else as well. We ended up having to find another spot that was open which resulted in motorcyclists showing up that night as we were going to bed, demanding we leave. System needs to be fixed. Be really careful making reservations and show up early.

The campground at Backbone is a really neat natural place to visit. The rock is a truly unique feature and is definitely worth taking a look. There's not much here in the way of amenities, and the picnic shelter is kind of dark. Bring your lanterns if you're going to be doing anything in there.

Pretty decent just gotta be patient can't just cast and reel.
There are points where you can access the creek right off the campground, but there were no officially designated swimming areas that I was aware of.
Unless something has changed recently they only close the gate when the campground is closed.
Yeah
