Call ahead if dropping off a patient! They take very good care of their animal drop offs. Make sure to donate!

This place is absolutely wonderful. My husband found a terribly wounded wild baby rabbit near our home and Woodlands Wildlife Refuge was able to take the bunny. They took the bunny right away, no waiting! We just had to fill out a short form. Even though the bunny was not a pet, we were in love with him/her. So it was reassuring to be assigned a case number so we can check up on the bunny in a few days. If the little guy makes it, he'll get to live on these beautiful grounds. The area is spacious, green, and gorgeous!

This place puts a lot of time and effort into taking care of injured and abandoned baby reptiles and furry four legged wildlife creatures. It is great to know there are places like this that tend to those in need.

There is a deer near my backyard with a broken leg. It keeps coming back here and then runs away. When it runs away, the broken leg swings around and I don’t know how to help it.

The best way to reach us for animal help is to call us at 908-730-8300 x 4 so we can discuss. Thank you for caring

I would suggest calling the Raptor Trust. Birds aren't included in the range of animals that Woodlands cares for.

How do I save or transport an injured deer? This fawn had an injury, but walked a few steps and kept falling down. He seems alert. He was on the side of the road. A cop pulled up and shot him in the head instead of trying to transport to a rescue.

Call your local animal control for help with a fawn. They may not be able to help with a deer.

I wanted to take my children for a visit. My youngest is 4, loves animals, and is always eager to learn. She loves the show, Dr Pol and similar programs. Would this be a good day trip taking her to see various wildlife animals being cared for ?
