Kat and Co. have a good thing going down in the west end. Great service for a great cause. Highly recommend for any bicycle service. Also, if you have an old bike, take it down to VW and donate it. There is a kid out there that would love to have your old bike and learn how to work on it, too. Thanks Kat!

Kat helped me out with this pedal tractor for my kids. The shop is such a cool spot. It’s a nonprofit that has a number of programs available for the neighborhood folks, or anyone who needs a bike. The informal, come and go, atmosphere helps everyone mesh right in—a ‘same team’ feeling of serving others. Everyone gives a little and gets a little. Stop by and have a conversation with somebody, barter volunteer hours for a bike, get your bike repaired, totally refurbished, or buy a new one.

Many thanks to Kat and her team on getting my bike up and running again, along with sharing some knowledge on maintenance. Definitely will be back!

Kat is BY FAR one of the most professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic representatives I have ever dealt with in ANY business situation. I am not sure Kats' position, but what a great customer interface for the company!!! I had my wifes' bike repaired, and Kat did the work personally!!! Kat took about 30 minutes to give my wife pointers on riding, braking, and safety tips!!! Will definitely have any more bike repair done here!!! I give this place, and Kat, a 5 star review !!!!!!

How can you earn a bike

Check out the process on the website: http://www.villagewrench.org/earn-a-bike 1. Get to work in your community. There are a variety of organizations that provide service opportunities (see below). Alternatively, neighborhood efforts such as trash pick up, visiting with a senior citizen, or raking leaves for a single-parent are great examples. Ask yourself, "What am I good at and how can I put that to work in my neighborhood?" 2. Document your work on the Tracking Sheet and have someone validate your volunteerism by signing it and providing his or her phone number. Verification letters from organizations are preferred. Understand that you will NOT receive your bicycle until the signer has been contacted and verified your work. Also complete a Liability Waiver online or print one out. 3. Bring the Tracking Sheet to the workshop during normal business hours. Pick out a bike from our inventory based on the cost of the bicycle and how many hours you have served.

Completely rebuilding the whole unit, tapping the threads, treating the threads with the appropriate compound, and adjusting may fix the issue, if not, replacing the unit is usually preferred.

1. Can public buy used parts from Village Wrench? 2. Where to park?

Last First | Sep 20, 2019
Drake McNeary | Sep 20, 2019

1. Yes. We have bins of parts that you can look through and purchase if you wish. 2. There are public parking lots signed nearby off Pendleton Rd. As an option, there is a car wash just under the railroad trestle. You can park there, stop by VW, and maybe grab lunch in West Greenville. Then you can come back to your clean car for a reasonable price.
