When your family is made up of first-generation Americans, purchasing your first car can be both an exciting and terrifying endeavor. What with all the horror stories people share about being hustled at car dealerships, my family and I were nothing short of apprehensive when we arrived at White Plains Honda in search of the perfect car. My family and I were lucky to be paired with Theo: a car salesman who was a first-gen American like us, from the same part of New York City. Thus was born an understanding of our plight and a genuine interest in helping us secure the car we truly wanted that would serve our needs. Theo was patient, honest, and transparent about the volatility of the market and how it impacted the cost of cars these days. He took us for a test drive, explained the nitty gritty of the process, and worked with us to ensure we got a decent deal. My family and I were at the dealership from morning till evening, and Theo was right there with us, negotiating and conversing along the way.
