We do sell t-shirts, bags, and other merchandise at the museum.
Take it to 125 and Lexington and it's an easy walk from there.
There's no parking nearby, I think, only the street. Better to go by public transport
It is a recommended donation, there is not a fixed fee. It is quite small, essentially one large room and I am not sure how much interest a 12 year old might have. You can call them and see if there any special youth programs.
Not necessarily needed we just walked in it was very nice however we did give $20.00 donations
