We hiked this yesterday. Am pretty out of shape and have a bad knee but with a couple of rest breaks we made it. It was worth every drop of sweat. The view was spectacular.

This was an awesome little hike with a one of a kind view at the end. Round trip was about 1.5 miles and most of the trail was gentle. There were a few areas where you had to go over rocks, but it wasn't anything overly difficult. Again, that view at the end... Worth the effort! It ended at a lookout platform that just took your breath away! Almost a full 180° view that is practically unobstructed by development.

Nice and close to the look out point. Could use some work to be motorcycle friendly as Roan mountain is part of the southern dozen.

There is a way to access from up there. Plenty of signage.
