This is a must if you’re in the area! Be sure to make reservations in advance as spots fill up quickly. Try to pick a night where there’s no moon or a small moon and when the planets will be visible in the 9:30 to 11:30 PM time frame. We had a great time this past Thursday and even had the luck of seeing a spectacular shooting star that was the brightest anyone there including the astronomers had ever seen. You probably won’t see one of those but you’ll have a great time and you’ll learn a ton.

Saw Moon Madness but looked at galaxies and stars far, far away first. Then the Moon...great 2 hr program. 2 telescopes...plenty of time to look thu. I want to come back for a dark sky night (no moon) and see the stars only!

They really do a good job providing space to setup your own telescope. Even though I was not part of the private group the host made sure I was all taken care up. Steve was also super friendly helping me out through email. A gem!!

The Observatory was amazing! We really didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into but everything about our experience exceeded our expectations. We were there for a beautiful clear sky night and the staff was extremely helpful and educational. Would 100% recommend!

The Bare Dark Sky Observatory plans to re-open on July 1Oth. The Earth to Sky Park is open to pedestrian traffic [park at the gate] all night every night, however there are no facilities available. Travel safe...

Is this also a public camping ground??
