Excellent board walk for walking trail. The kayaking is great too. Birds, a few alligators, and lots of turtles. There is much more shade if you paddle west.

Yes, most of it is open. I believe one or two of the overlook area's are still closed, but the main portion is open.

Can I rent a kayak here or must I bring my own?

The county does not offer any kayak rentals at any of their parks unfortunately, I am sorry. So you will need to bring your own.
