Well, we got a new window, at least. Things started off very promising. Continental Glass was recommended by two companies we contacted for quotes about replacing a window pane with a stress crack. Someone from Continental Glass came out on a Saturday morning to measure the window and was very professional. We were told they would call us with the quote, but my husband had to call them. Even though there's a card reader and a sign advising what cards they accept by the front desk, they said they only accepted cash or check, so we drove to Millenia on April 23 to drop off the check. We were told it'd take seven to ten days for the window to come in and then they would schedule a time for us to install it. Ten days passed, and my husband called them on Thursday, May 5, to ask about it. They said they'd call when it was ready. They then called back a short time later that same day and said we were actually on the schedule and the tech would be over in an hour. Fortunately I was available to be here during the installation—otherwise, then what? This wasn't the scheduled installation we anticipated. The technician installed the window on May 5 but before he left, he announced he'd accidentally ripped our window screen in the process. We understand that accidents happen, and he said he would be back with a replacement screen "tomorrow." Tomorrow came and went, so my husband called on Tuesday, May 10, for an update, and was told "probably tomorrow." My husband called again on Friday, May 13, and Thursday, May 19, and was always told "tomorrow," without any acknowledgement of all the other "tomorrows" that were promised. I get that it's not convenient to make the trip to and from Millenia (I experienced that when I had to make the in-person payment), but this poor communication and unapologetic flow of "tomorrows" that never happen is just ridiculous. We'd be fine if the screen was just mailed to us so we can pop it back in ourselves. In short, we paid for services and wound up with damaged property that appears to be of little concern to the business. The whole experience has generated doubt in the quality of the actual installment as well. UPDATE: We just got the screen back (5/31/2022) so I added a star.
