Cory was a wonderful employee, at the 34th street location, that helped my sick mother in law with renewing her tag. She has made two previous appointments and could not make it because she was sick and this was the first time she had made it. Cory was pleasant, diligent and knowledgeable. He even went the extra mile to replace the license plate because it was overdue and was kind enough to meet us outside in the parking lot and screw the license plate on the car for us in the hot sun. We are very grateful for all his help, efficiency and etiquette. I tried to tip him but he wouldn’t accept. I can’t say enough good things about him. He was definitely a blessing.

I get appointments only during the pandemic and when your busy. But to turn people away (that made an appointment, just wrong location) when their are ZERO people in the waiting room is disgusting. You don't care about hardworking citizens needing to take a day off work. You are rude ... to come out and say you are too busy.... with an empty waiting room. Is rude...... you are horrible.

We do recommend allowing adequate time for parking. There are 2 hour and 30 minute parking spots near the entrance of the building and the vicinity surrounding the Bo Diddley plaza.
We have a drop box at the Downtown location (12 SE 1st Street). It's on the east side of the building, right near our double doors.
Yes, there is a $15 late fee per Florida Department of Highway Safety Motor Vehicle's policy. It is not an Alachua County policy. The 67 Tax Collector offices in the State act as agents for the FDHSMV and they set policy regarding driver license issuance procedures and fees.

If the decal on your license plate is still current and you cancel your vehicle insurance, you will need to surrender the license plate to avoid having your driver license suspended.
