A little confusing. I thought I was going into a rescue shelter but the first thing I saw were puppies for sale. The rescue dogs were in back of this room. Our dog just passed so I was just there to drop off a couple leashes we no longer needed. I did look at the puppies and they all looked happy and not crowded in the cages. The attendant was very nice and provided a lot of information about the pups. Showed us paper work and explained how they are vetted. I looked at where these pups came from and several came from northern Indiana. Having lived in Indiana I was familiar with the area being a location of many Amish puppy mills. I looked up the name of the breeder listed and he has a very bad reputation. However, since they are not rescues they are being sold for high prices and that turned me off since I know they came from bad breeders. Those puppy mills need to be put out of business not supported. Look at the true rescues and pass by the puppy store.

Went to the adoption event to meet a puppy that happened to have a broken leg. During the event I talked to several workers about this dog inquiring about how the break happened, when it happened ect and asked if the dog was able to be adopted today. I was assured yes by several different people. After 3 hours I went to to start the meet and greet and was told that the puppy was not able to be adopted that day and it had to be fostered instead and if I wanted her then I'd have to come back every Thursday by noon. They're not even open at that time so I really don't understand why that day and time. Would have gladly worked something out but they were oddly specific. Seemed like they really didn't want to get that dog adopted. I decided on a different dog and wouldn't let me take her because my current dog is unable to do a meet and greet (she has osteo sarcoma and can't play or be in crowded noisy places) offered to prove it too. I said I'd bring her back in the afternoon when it was quiet and they told me they weren't going to hold the dog. I wonder if they wanted my dying dog to wait in my car for 3 hours while we were at the adoption event?? I really don't mind that I had to wait that long I get that adoption event have a ton of people and everyone has to wait their turn, but You'd think they'd have said something at least one of the several times I talked to the staff throughout the day. They didn't even let my friend adopt a dog because my dog couldn't show up for a meet and greet. I'm assuming they thought we were a couple? I felt like I wasted my time.
