I recently moved to the area and needed to replace an existing water pressure tank. Found LePrevost Plumbing Heating and Company online. Called and within two weeks appointment was made. The owner answered all of my questions and was very helpful with one of the leaks in the Jazucci. The plumber, Justin, was pleasant and easy to talk to. He was thorough, knowledge and efficient. He answered my questions and checked out the leak with the Jazucci. Would highly recommend them and now I have a plumber in the area.

Blaise is professional’s professional. He not only knows his stuff, but managed to explain what he was doing in terms that I could understand. He diagnosed (and fixed) a mini-split problem that baffled two other professionals in this field. He was pleasant and efficient: no time wasted. I trust him, and recommend him and his company, LePrevost Heating and Cooling, without reservation. Ed

Horrible customer service, I definitely would not recommend them. We had an emergency issue and are looking for immediate help. They only help previous customers, so I guess new business isn't acceptable. None of this information is on their website. They say 24-hour service but that's just false advertising. John was rude and completely unwilling to help out and gain a new customer for life.

How often should I service my HVAC system?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

To keep your HVAC system running in tip-top shape, we recommend a maintenance appointment twice a year (once for heat, once for air conditioning). This way we can check your filters, coils, wiring, housing, motor, and more to make sure you’re getting the most out of your system.

How often should I replace my filters?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

For optimum efficiency and filtration, we recommend that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.

What can I do to lower my energy bills?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

Having an HVAC system with a thermostat that allows you schedule your heating and cooling needs to line up with your work/school schedule is the best way to ensure your unit isn't running when it's not needed, saving you money long term.

What are the advantages of a programmable thermostat?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

Different programmable thermostats offer many different features. However, because they are electronic, they are all more accurate and efficient than thermostats that contain mercury. With programmable thermostats you can control the temperature in your home at different times of day without ever touching your thermostat. Because everything is automatic, you will never forget to change the setting on your own.

How do I know if I need a new heater or air conditioner?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

If your HVAC system requires constant repairs, is 15 years or older, or can’t heat or cool your home properly, we recommend you replace it. When an HVAC system ages, it doesn’t operate as efficiently and could actually end up costing you more money than it should.

Which HVAC System is right for my home or business?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

There are many recommendation we can make, but the recommendations we make vary ona case by case basis depending on an individual home or businesses needs. Give us a call so we can discuss in further detail.

Is a system with more capacity better?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

No. A larger system with more capacity delivers less comfort and costs more to operate. An air conditioner is at its least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient. Also keep in mind that an air conditioner only removes humidity when it’s running, so a system with shorter run cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.

How are the sizing capacities of heating and cooling systems measured?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

The heating and cooling systems are sized according to their tonnage. One (1) ton equals 12,000 BTU/H. Residential systems can range from 1 to 5 tons.

How can I check if I have a leak?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

If you think you have a leak in your home, there’s an easy way you can check. Go out to your water meter and record the level. Make sure no one uses any water for a few hours, then go back and check the meter again (it’s easiest to do this when everyone goes to bed, then check it again first thing in the morning). If the level has changed, you probably have a leak.

Do I really need to worry about hidden leaks?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

Absolutely. They only get worse over time and can cause major damage to your home.

My water bills are going up, but I don’t think we have a leak. What’s going on?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

Your toilet may be leaking silently.

How much will your services cost?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

That is very difficult to say without seeing the problem. You should never receive a price sight unseen. If a plumber is able to tell you how much something costs before they even look at the problem, I wouldn’t trust the price they gave you.

Why do I run out of hot water?

LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020
LePrevost Plumbing Heating & Cooling | Sep 19, 2020

It could be because of your water heater. The first thing we do is look at your water heating needs. Then we look to see if the water heater is working properly and delivering the water that it’s supposed to. If it is, it may just not be sized properly.
