Quiet little camp along the South bank of the Russian River. Sites are rustic and a bit of a walk from the parking. Bring a wagon.

A real nice option for those looking to do a little more remote style camping than the main RV filled campground at Sonoma coast state Park. Takes a little effort to lug all your gear in but the spots are well spaced and right along the Russian River. Only downside is the $25 fee which seems pretty steep for what you're getting...

The wonderful aspect of this campground is the first come first serve policy where even the least organized folk have a chance to drink from the Mother's bosom. Enjoy. If you want a specific site or a choice of sites you'll want to arrive between Sunday afternoon and Thursday morning.

Yes, there are picnic tables and fire pits; there are only 11 sites, and it’s first come, first served, I.e., no reservations. Also, no running water, no dogs allowed at all.
