The hotel experience is 5 stars for us. Great location, quiet and clean. The self serve honor bar area is a great asset as well to grab a drink or make yourself a cocktail. Something to be aware of is the phone reception is essentially non-existent for ATT (at least in room 12) and while there is WiFi it does not always allow for a call or message to come through. Great for the relaxation part but a bit stressful if you need to be reached. Can’t forget to mention how great the bikes are for a quick ride to Armstrong Redwoods or into town for dinner or a cocktail! The spa experience was sadly a 3. Many reviews mention how wonderful this experience was so we bit the bullet on price and indulged. A little story as to why our rating…one of us did the 90 min body + sole and the other just 90 min therapeutic. We got there at our appt time and had to fill out the release forms which takes a few minutes and then by the time we are on the table and the massage therapists are in, it’s close to 1:10. There was some music issues my therapist had to address that he stepped away from the table to deal with which is not a big deal but post massage, now fully dressed and walking out, when I looked at the time it was 2:30 on the dot. After spending almost $500 on the two massages I would have hoped to have actually gotten my 90 minutes and not just 75 min. The quality of the massage was better for one of us than the other but we both agreed, while it was relaxing, it did not live up to the hype.

It’s a nice, relaxing down to earth bed and breakfast if you’re looking for a place in Guerneville it is the most upscale you’ll find but has lots of room of improvement for the price you pay. We paid $460 total with fees per night Thurs-Sat for King size + fireplace room. Pros: + The pool/hot tub setting in the woods is beautiful and relaxing + One of the most comfy hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. + Spacious rooms + nice hotel manager/staff Things to be prepared for: - No TV, no air conditioning (they give you a box fan) - No on-site restaurant/room service, only breakfast. - WiFi is very slow, we came to unplug but don’t try to work remotely here if that’s what you’re looking for, I doubt video calls would work. - Outdated bathrooms, old motel wall hair dryers. They attempt to make up for this with nice towels and soaps. - The sliding doors and room keys are a pain to use. - No Uber/Lyfts/food delivery or food on-site, local taxi company we didn’t use because we walked into town on the shoulder of the road We have stayed in wine country and at other remote lodges and I do think they could up the details if they’re going to charge so much, such as: restaurant partnerships to deliver or have more food options on site, better bathrooms, a TV ; (with dvd a selection if the streaming/cable is a barrier), an updated bar area since it’s DIY and self-serve maybe at least add a sink and nicer counter top? It looked like an old water logged handmade wooden bar. The tiled Fire pit is a nice update showing more effort, I hope they continue to improve the rest of the facilities to match it. This all is transparent on their website but I do think I expected more attention to detail and hospitality given the price.

We loved our stay at boon hotel + spa. It’s a little oasis surrounded by nature, and you instantly feel relaxed the moment you walk into the property. Great vibes at the pool with the fire pit and hot tub. Our favorite part of the whole stay was Jay, the hotel manager. He’s so fun to chat with and made us feel at home. We can’t wait to come back!

Boon was very relaxing. Our spa treatments were awesome, the room was very comfortable, breakfast tasty, and the hot tub and fire pit were pleasant on a cold fall night. The only potential downside was that cell reception and wifi signal were week. We highly recommend checking out the Armstrong Forest nearby (boon has bikes you can grab for a short trip to the park) and boon's restaurant in the nearby town.
