Fantastic beach location! There are little to no waves, a long, wide sandy beach perfect for kids to play in. Be forewarned if camping at Miwok Campground, however, this place is VERY windy! We tent camped for four days, three nights with 40 kids in wind no less than 25 mph the majority of the time. One morning we had a bit of a break but it ramped up again in the afternoon. Gusts were close to 50 mph on our last night which made it near to impossible to sleep. If there are gale force wind warnings, I recommend staying in a hotel and playing at the beach there. The dune did provide a bit of a wind break so the beach was the best place to be. Our neighbors' tent broke a pole within 3 hours of setup. We lucked out all our tents survived!

We had a great time at Doran Campground this year, we have already been there twice this yr. The campgrounds are very clean as were their bathrooms. Although the weather was beautiful in the mornings this year seemed unusually windy in the late afternoon. Love this place and have already booked a space for next year.

Windy, windy, windy campground. Beach access and Coast Guard Base on site, camp host is driving around to make sure everything is ok.

Doran Campground is on a strip of land that branches out across Bodega Bay! I was in the Miwok Tent campground area. My campsite was clean! Each site has a fire pit, a picnic table and a raccoon box. The tent area is tucked into trees and …

Not sure on the beach but yes on the rocks they even have body lunch if you have one.
Agree with the previous answer, however, due to the countywide shelter-in-place order, Doran Beach campgrounds are closed and only open for day use from sunrise to sunset.
At&t & Verizon have full service here. You can access internet easily
No they are all reservations only. Through Sonoma County parks. Or you can go online. And go Doran Beach camping
Yes it cost I think about $30 per night so worth it jus beautiful
If pulling a trailer and/or it is prime season, yes. If camping with a car there are a number of short sites that won't fit trailers that are usually available.
Yes. The jetty. A fisherman had caught a ray and we were helping him free it.
Not really, no. There are a few sites that are ADA compliant that have electricity, and there is a water spigot every few sites you can use to fill up. You need to disconnect once you're done filling up as the water spigots need to be available for other campers.
The cost is $35 a night in the peak season, $32 a night in the off season, -$2 if you are a Sonoma County resident. Extra vehicles are $7 a night, dogs are $2 a night per dog, and if you need to use the dump station there is a $7 charge. Max 8 people per campsite. All sites cost the same amount, except for the group campsite which is $225 a night.
Verizon works there
It is open, and the fire did not reach Doran Campground.
