I called out Best Home Services to remove an existing toilet and install one I had purchased at Home Depot. They quoted me $495 to do the job. Outrageous for maybe one hour work. I was obliged to give them a $39 fee for them coming out to look at the toilet. Would never call again. They refused to give me any indication of what the cost might be over the phone. Disgusted! (Later note:,) Best Homes has reached out to me to discuss my concerns as they promised. They have offered to void the diagnostic fee , in a gesture of their good faith, which I do appreciate.

I would choose Mr. Sparky for your home electrical needs, and I will not use nor recommend Best Home Services. I reached out to have 2 fans installed. Made an appointment for over 1wk in the future. Someone shows up at our door and tells us he is an estimator, no electricians were available today. We were charged $35 just for him to confirm that we have a ceiling in our house and we have a box with a fan in it.... Then, the soonest appointment they had was 5 days later, and they wanted to charge almost $500. Finally, if we wanted to reserve our appointment time for the possibility of someone coming 5 days later, it was a 50% non-refundable deposit. We would have much preferred getting a phone call letting us know that no electricians were available for our job that day. We would have denied an estimator (because again, there was nothing to estimate). It was not the expectation that was set over the phone when making the intial appointment. It was a waste of our money and everyone's time.
