My boyfriend and I were charged by an off-leash dog in the on-leash trail area for the second time today while walking our dogs. We observed the dog and owner walking towards us, and called out to the owner telling him to put the dog on a leash. The owner refused and insisted that his dog was fine, right before his dog charged at us and our dogs. After being charged by the off-leash dog, which the owner took several minutes to get under control and on a leash, he proceeded to start a verbal altercation with us, claiming that a park ranger told him he was allowed to have is dog off leash in the on-leash area. If this is true, I am appalled that a park ranger would encourage people to have their dogs off-leash in the on-leash area. We no longer feel safe going to this park, which is unfortunate considering it’s one of the only dog friendly parks in the area.
