Sara at the front desk was so knowledgeable and helpful. For someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing, she was so sweet and helped me figure out exactly what I needed. Thank you!

I have used MW Horticulture 4 years straight to mulch my 17,000 sq/ft Cape Coral lot (which is surrounded by gardens). The composted "black mulch" is the most cost effective way to safely mulch your property. Bagged mulch is 3-4 times more expensive than the 18 yard dump-truck loads I have been using. I tried the regular cheap mulch from Lee County yard waste recycling and seriously regretted it 5 years ago. I had the strangest assortment of weeds, plants, and mushrooms sprouting everywhere. I was really upset by losing 2 mature queen palms that were infected with some disease that mulch caused. Sarah has been very easy to work with and Dave the delivery driver has always met the agreed upon time and day. The complaints I read about debris and large logs in the mulch are somewhat true, but for the price difference from the bagged mulch is worth throwing a few contaminant plastic and metals away. The black mulch is higher in dirt and nutrient content and my plants LOVE IT! The black mulch also doesn't attract ants and bugs like the other mulch did. The negative comments about the company pertaining to the fire that burned for 10 days at their mulch pile north of San Carlos is just due to angry people who probably never mulched in their lives! The company cut channels between multiple smaller piles instead of one or two giant piles that were inaccessable to the fire trucks. It was an unfortunate event, but we do NEED composting companies like MWH if we are going to recycle yard waste, The only other option is to burn it in the waste incinerator or bury it in a landfill. Composting and recycling is the best option for the environment.

Poor quality compost. Looks like sand wood chips and there biochar to make it dark very little actual compost in it. Found lots of gravel, clay pipe, plastic and glass. Would not buy again. Do not think i would take it for free.

I have a class a CDL and have driven tri-axle for rock, dirt and asphalt for the state highway installation. Sarah goes above and beyond to facilitate a load despite her giving away free material-not obligated. The load of free dirt with logs was like black gold, NOT contaminated, exactly as described. They have non-employee triaxle drivers that run loads. AVOID Adam at all costs: he cant manage, doesn't coordinate or communicate, rude, no respect of anyone else's time, flipped me off for no reason other than flagging him down and waving trying to make his entry seamless, and he refused my load and was $35 more expensive per load. I hired Flores who was polite, prompt, eager, cheerful and grateful for the work. He knows his equipment capabilities and went above and beyond to be sure not to damage property and put the load precisely where I asked it to be. He stopped what he was doing to bring me a load because of my special needs.

When available, ground up trimming and leaf mulch can be picked up free at the Collier County Landfill. Call 239-252-8489 to verify availability. MW Horticulture is not connected or affiliated with any county solid waste programs. If the county landfill does not have mulch available. MW Horticulture can deliver various grades of mulch and we also have it for pickup. Rates start at 7.99 per yard for mixed mulch.
Rates vary depending on distance from our disposal yards. Rates start at $435 per load. Total Load weight is limited to 30,000 pounds AND even if the weight is not met, the load must be contained completely inside the box body. Trees must be cut to 15 feet in length. The grapple has a limited size it can grab and its own weight limit as well of around 1000# +/-. Depending on the distance of the load from the truck. Larger Stumps can often be heavier than that and may need to be cut in order to be loaded. Our truck does not leave hard pack or asphalt. All debris must be pushed streetside and not under power lines or low trees. A minimum clearance of 10 feet wide and 14 feet high is needed.
