This location is an exceptional out of the way place to enjoy a nice hike in a very scenic ecosystem. However, it can get very wet in the rainy season so dress appropriately. I also encounter new plant species and enjoy the arduous walk . A encountered a few raptures, snakes, deer and marsh rabbits. Overall a great experience.

Unfortunately it rained, but the path is worth the walk.

I did not see any Panthers but I got some real good pictures of 9 to 11 ft Gators in a real small canal

There is no cost to visit the public hiking trail on the FP Refuge, but donations are always appreciated! The trail is open sunup to sundown, but you may want to check their website or Facebook page for the specific times as the trail is gated.
There's no charge, Just go and enjoy the Florida Panther s in the wild
The Florida Panther Refuge is closed to public hunting. The sister refuge along the coast however, Ten Thousand Islands NWR does allow seasonal duck hunting.
