I have seen Dr. Burns when his partner (my regular Dr. Lay) was on vacation. My Dr. retired and I didn’t receive notice until my medication refill was denied. I phoned the office and made an appointment. I still required my medication refill, and I asked that my ONE medication be refilled while I await my appointment. I was told NO. This isn’t first time in the 4 states I lived (Husband is a Defense & Military Contractor) that a Doctor of mine has retired and a change of care to a partner was ordered. HOWEVER, while I wait for this Appointment, the Doctor WON’T refill a home medication of 5 years by his partner as I am an established patient with the group. I was told to go to urgent care for a refill. Surprise! I thought a Doctor would want you healthy and in stability while you wait to be seen. This doesn’t feel like what CARE should look like.

Dr Burns was professional, helpful, and knowledgeable when I was sick and my neurologist was not available to help me. I truly appreciate and value him.

Back on Jan.13th 2022 i had an office visit with Dr.Burns.Seven months later i get a bill from a collection agency saying i owe a small balance. The reason being my deductible wasn't met at the time of service because it was so early in the year.I resent the fact that they sent this bill to collection when the billing dept.have both my email and phone number. At least give a courtesy call to see if i received a statement.I am five minutes away from the office this could have all been resolved.A simple phone call would have been nice.I am sick and tired of everybody using covid-19 as an excuse.Dr. Burns just recently updated his answering system because it was horrendous. That is one of the reasons i left Dr.Burns.Their clinical dept.is terrible they never return calls.Dr.Burns practice may have since changed i hope so he is a good doctor with a great bedside manor.

I have been out of my birth control and have been trying to get it refilled since December 31st. I have called everyday, multiple times and no one is answering me. My mom even went out of her way to call for me because of how upset I was getting. My hormones are all over the place now because of this. I am very stressed and don’t understand why it’s so hard to pick up the phone? It says you are open. My pharmacy has even has sent 2 faxes over to you guys. This is absolutely ridiculous. UPDATE 3/31/22 : That message about you caring very dearly for your patients is not true, I called my pharmacy to get a refill again (I get one every couple months and have been for TWO years) last Thursday , they sent 2 faxes over to you guys. Yesterday Dr. Burns DENIES my refill which has not happened before. I call the office and they proceed to tell me that it’s because I haven’t had a check up for over a year, but they had months to tell me to come in. They not once warned me in advance about this. I just had surgery in February for my foot, so my mobility is not great at the moment and I was VERY stressed felt blindsided. Instead of being apologetic, the receptionist was very unempathetic and even told me that Dr Burns had the right to refuse my refill without warning, And sure. Maybe he does , but any DR that truly cared about their patients would at least warn them ahead of time. She also made a virtual appointment with a nurse nearing the end of the conversation (probably to get me out of her hair) and assured me that I would be able to get an appointment as of 5:10 pm yesterday, and they would definitely be able to refill it. I double checked TWICE. At 5:00ish, the place I was supposed to have the virtual appointment with calls me and very rudely informs me that they don’t do virtual refills for birth control because they need a urine sample. But they did NOT inform me that they were going to cancel the appointment. I believe they did that intentionally, seeing as they were closed and I could not call back. I wouldn’t have made a huge deal if this wasn’t a reoccurring problem with communication with this office, as well as a disregard for the feelings of their patients. I guess Dr. Burns thinks I’m only on birth control to prevent pregnancy, which is not true. It is to regulate my hormones and extremely painful periods. The thought of having to go through that again when I just had to go through the pain of foot surgery, is terrifying. I was so upset I could hardly think, or talk. I was shaking uncontrollably. I was supposed to have it refilled on Sunday, and because of Dr burns and his staff, I have to scramble to find a new primary care in the next two days or I WILL have to feel the horrible effects. I wholeheartedly believe Dr. Burns is only out to get your money. Moral of the story is, if you lack empathy, you should not have a job in the medical field. I would strongly advise against anyone receiving treatment from this doctor.

I went in person because of new phone system their setting up. It's horrible!

Is the office open? I’m trying to make an appointment to be seen as I’m sick but no one is answering. It says to go online to make an appointment but there’s only February…

I was in last week, and they said they were hiring someone to answer phones. The new person was supposed to start today (1‐10). Hopeful it gets better, because it's been insane trying to get ahold of anyone there lately. Awesome Dr. once you get an appointment though.
