Arrived at 2:50pm, laceration and suspicion of having broken my heel bone. Maybe an hour until I got vitals taken, and was left in the triage room for an hour and a half with a dirty laceration that was acknowledged by the triage nurse that it needed to be cleaned. Wasn't cleaned in the hour and a half after the triage nurse saw it. By 5:20, I knew nothing was going to get done. Hobbled out of triage and had my friend take me to Angel in Franklin. Had the wound cleaned, and X-rayed in under an hour. Pitiful excuse for an establishment, godspeed to anyone that actually needs emergency care and Harris is the closest ER.

My mother needed to get emergency hip replacement this week. The staff there is fantastic, and they let me stay in the same room as her the whole time. There isn't a single person we met there that wasn't extremely kind and impressionable. That being said, I am here to write an honest review, so I must also include the bad. As I mentioned before, my mother and I stayed a week- 8 nights total- and in that amount of time we found two insects in the room. One was a VERY large cockroach(think- a bit larger than a roll of invisible tape) just crawling up the wall right by the TV- and the other was much smaller, tangled up in a used sheet (think, the size of a pony bead). There was also some questionable substances found in the rest room in the shower, and by the toilet on the wall- it was red and of course being in a hospital, you assume the worst with that- we decided it was likely rust. Though it wasn't on any metal.... So, the cleanliness isn't something to brag about, but let me honestly tell you- you will not find better patient services anywhere else. Every nurse we had was amazing; the food and nutrition workers were amazing, and the Physical Therapists were fantastic. They did have some difficulty with responding to rang requests, but when it mattered most, they responded timely. Example: my mother rang and asked to get some coffee brought down for her one morning because she was fighting constipation- they did not deliver as expected and we had to ring again. That being said, when her pain was high and she called the desk for more pain medication, they responded relatively quickly. Unfortunately, there was multiple times where she'd call for a miniscule request and no one would come, but as mentioned before when she really needed something, they were timely. Overall, I know it seems I'm bringing to light more negativity than optimisms, but this truly was a wonderful hospital. We had Dr. Supik who performed the surgery, and we checked up on us daily to ask how she was doing and if he could better the experience-- the PT workers really were amazing and came twice a day for about 22-25 minutes each time; willing to take longer or shorter amount of time- pick your poison. This hospital really was a great ones in the aspects that mattered most- but there are some notable issues, still.

Beware: they will offer a 20% discount for in-full day-of-service payment and they will bill you accordingly, but this is not a proper line-item in their billing system and will only be listed in the comments. This means your bill will end up with an external billing department who cannot see those comments and will start coming after that additional 20%.

Went to the ER for my father who has Covid and kept spiking a fever! We waited for 30 minutes before being taken back to a room!! Sandra, the nurse, was amazing and went above and beyond for my father. She was fast and efficient and made …

Hi Judy, Harris Regional doesn't have an oral surgeon on staff. We are so sorry to not be able to meet your need at this time.
Hi Marvin - thank you for the question. MRI's are only performed with a physician's order. If you are having issues or need care, please go to the emergency room so that help can be provided. If the emergency department physician orders an MRI based on your symptoms, you will have one completed then. I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to reach back out with any additional questions.
First of all, congratulations on getting into WCU and welcome to the Catamount family. As a student, I can explain basically how stuff works. So the Hospital will take pretty much any insurance because its a hospital. All students are required to have insurance, which can be purchased as a student plan for a pretty penny, or you can opt out of the student plan and utilize your own. The student plan has high co pays and is pretty expensive, but it's the only insurance that you're allowed to use at the campus medical center which isn't a full service hospital. I'd recommend opting out of the student plan, and using Jackson County Rural Transit to get you to medical facilities in Sylva if you don't have a car. As for the hospital, I'd just use whatever has a lower copay.
