Bought property 410 Tangelo Dr Sanford, FL to discover Wormley charged $9,487 for a new roof 2 years ago and covered this with an MDF board which collapsed.

After a hailstorm in the early spring, we needed our roof replaced. I had contacted our insurance company and after months of debate and the initial inspector saying no damage, we had to appeal. Robert with Wormley Roofing had been doing spot repairs for us for a number of years and we reached out and shared the challenges with our insurance carrier. Robert met the insurance inspector and showed him the damage (I did not know that there are different kinds of hail). Once everything lined up, we got several quotes and selected Wormley to do the work. There are a lot of fly-by-night roofers and it was important to us to select an established local company that gave us great service. Work was completed as scheduled. The crew was professional and did a nice job picking up after themselves. Robert and his team met my expectations ( I get on the roof and inspect also) and worked with us on any needs. Several of our neighbors hired Wormley after our work was completed as they know how picky we are with contractors. I highly recommend Wormley for repairs and replacement.

Wormley was recommended to me by a co-worker. I was very happy with their service from start to finished. I got 4 other estimates and Tyler was the only one who got up inside my attic. He provided pictures and a thorough explanation of the work that needed to be done. My new roof looks great.

Although I did not choose Wormley to replace my roof, Tyler and everyone else at Wormley were very professional. Tyler showed up on time and did a thorough inspection of my roof. He was very knowledgeable and informed me of multiple issues that needed to be addressed with my roof that I never would have thought about. I will not hesitate to reach out to Wormley the next time I need some work done. If you are in need of roof work I highly recommend giving them a call.

Questions & Answers

How Can I Find the Exact Location of a Leak?

Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022
Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022

When dealing with leaks it is important to keep in mind that water wants to find the path of least resistance to travel, which means that your leak could present itself in parts of your house that aren't close to the actual leak. One solution is to go into your attic or crawl space with a flashlight the next time it rains and try to trace the leak. Visible signs, such as pooling water or damaged drywall/building materials should be present. However, this isn't always effective due to walls or other physical obstructions blocking your view. The most accurate way to track the leak is to have a professional come out and access the leak.

What Causes a Roof to Wear Out?

Most damage that a roof will take on is the direct force of nature. Severe weather, including typhoons, haboobs, hailstorms, snowstorms, and tornados contribute to the degradation of a roof. Algae and mildew, as well as sunlight, can also be a source of roof damage.

Can my roof be repaired or does it need to be replaced?

Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022

One of the big questions to ask is the age of the roof. If a roof is older than 15 years it may be time to contact a local contractor to inspect your roof and give their recommendation on how to proceed. Generally speaking cracked, broken and curled shingles can be replaced individually and are often the cause of issues like leaks. Roofs with widespread issues are more likely to need replacing, as the whole roof system may be compromised.

Will a new roof lower my energy bills?

Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022
Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022

f your roof is old and underperforming, roof replacement can help lower energy bills. Ideally, an attic should remain close to the outside temperature, but overheating in this space during the summer is a sign of inadequate ventilation. This inadequate ventilation can cause an HVAC system to work much harder than necessary. A new roof helps ensure that your HVAC system can work properly and keep stress off the system causing more power to be consumed.

Should I replace the shingles or the entire roofing system?

Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022
Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022

Your roofing system is comprised of several layers, all performing a different function. Generally speaking, replacing the entire system is the best route for improving the roof’s performance. The different layers of a roof can include leak barrier protection, synthetic roof deck protection, starter strip shingles, lifetime shingles, and ventilation.

Can I replace my roof myself?

Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022
Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022

In short no. There are projects which can be completed with a DIY mentality, however, due to the dangers of working on ones' roof, completing a roof replacement yourself isn't something that should be attempted. Not only do thousands of Americans die annually from falling from roofs, but you could be violating your roof's current warranty which could wind up costing you down the line.

What is the best time to replace a roof?

How much does a new roof cost?

Wormley Roofing | Sep 13, 2022

There is no straightforward answer because every roof is different. Roofing contractors consider a few factors when pricing out new roof installations: size, old roof removal, style, shape, materials, and labor. In addition to these factors, your roof could include other features like chimneys, skylights, and vents that need to be factored into the cost. Contact a licensed roofer near you to get an accurate quote.
