Positive: Rooms were clean, property was clean. Negative: We arrived a few minutes after check in time and my room as well as several others were not ready. We were all told that "our room type" was not ready. I had the reservation over a month before.

The front desk staff is absolutely wonderful. The hotel could use a few updates but it's still pretty good. Breakfast was delicious; an overall great experience.

My stay at this hotel was great. Brenda and Pat were very friendly and responsible, they answered all my questions and were very helpful. Monti was also very courteous and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. Ann always keep the area clean. Thanks to the new hotel management. I will be a returning guest!

My husband and I were excited for a weekend with out kids together. We haven't done this in years. When searching for hotels we wanted one that had a whirlpool tub in the room. We were so excited to find one at the Holiday Inn and Express Novi/Detroit. We love this area. Upon arrival things seemed great, staff were friendly. However when we went to use our whirlpool tub we couldn't get hot water longer than 2 minutes. We couldn't even fill the tub. We decided to brush it off and try again in the morning. Well in the morning same problem. When we talked to the staff they said they were sorry and could offer us 20% back and that other rooms were having the same issue. We were going to try the pool, but it was closed due to renovations. That was NOT disclosed ahead of time either. Later that day, we discovered the same water problem when trying to shower. We couldn't even take a hot shower! My husband also had to fix the toilet handle 3 times while we were there. We again talked to another worker about the hot water and her response was, "I'm surprised you're still here." Not that I should have to explain myself, but we were still there because I didn't feel like fighting with the hotel when we had such little time to spend together on our short weekend get away. We figured at check out we would talk again. So...what money did we get back.... $35 off a $400 room.... we've been trying to call the hotel and cannot get through. Will be reporting to the BBB. I hope they get the water fixed before the next group of ground floor guests are disappointed like my husband and I were.
