Bavaro's Pizza Napoletana & Pastaria

Went in for a late lunch on a Saturday. First things first: good first impression. Spacious area with both indoor and outdoor seating, attentive and friendly wait staff and a good menu for both pizza and non pizza dishes. We got their hot honey garlic Parmesan wood fired garlic wings and the special pizza of the day. The pizza was prosciutto and figs pizza. The sauce for the wings was very tasty and the wings were cooked perfectly. However, the wings by itself lacked flavor severely, and the sauce that it was tossed in felt like it was just a coat and did not fully marry the wings. The pizza was delicious, but it needed to be in the oven for a tad bit longer to get a nice crisp on the crust of the pizza. The cheese and the figs on the pizza was phenomenal. The prosciutto felt extra and did not really feel like it was part of the pizza which was disappointing. Overall good experience and would be back to try some of their other items.

Called to make a reservation on Saturday Sept. 4th. Was told they had no tables for the 5:30 timeframe but we could come and put our name on the list but to expect a hour to an hour and half wait. Arrived at 5:30 to tons of open tables inside and out. Perplexed about the reservation conversation earlier but hey, we got seats. Disappointed to see no gluten-free pizza options on the menu at all. Settled for a Bolognese over a gluten-free pasta. I had it there before so my expectations were it would be same. The food was extremely slow to come out. We were sure they had forgotten our order. When it finally did arrive it was awful. It tasted like canned tomato sauce with no seasoning and nearly non existent meat. Very disappointing as we had out of town guest with us. Two of us had ordered the bolognese and both were very disappointed. Sent the food back. There are lots of great restaurants in the area so we won’t be back here anytime soon.

It's hard to put into words my experience, but the staff was fast, so fast my food was at the table within like three minutes. Had a Peach Bellini and a tres carne pizza. Pizza was filling even for being six inches. The flavors were on point. The drink was delicious and well balanced. Then the best tiramisu I have had in a long time (from a kind person out there, THANK YOU! You made my day that day.) A definite spot to stop and get some good food and be near the great energy that is ST PETE!

Charcuterie board is phenomenal. Pizza left a lot to be desired. Service at the bar was good- will go back for happy hour!
