Hey Leslie. Thanks for the question. VPN’s are used in a couple of different ways depending on how you work. You’ll want a good VPN solution for mobile laptops and devices using public Wifi for example. The other use can be to connect back to your office network to access files there. In botch instances the connection uses the public Internet and “scrambles” (encrypts) the connection so hackers can’t snoop on you or steal your data. For personal use and just protection while using public WiFi like Starbucks or at the airport, I’d recommend something like NordVPN or Privatise. For business the solutions are all over the place. Generally there is software that pairs with the network equipment your office uses and your IT Dept will load it for you. Hope that helps and thanks for the question!
