I called in to the Santa Maria office fearing I would have a very long wait. My fear was unfounded as my call for an appointment was answered immediately, and by a most polite and courteous Mr. Soto Gomez. He was extremely helpful and instead of making me an appointment, he took my information and took care of the problem immediately. If I could give 6 stars, Mr. Sota Gomez would surely receive that rating. He really made me feel at ease and eliminated my worries about changing my direct deposit account.

Here is my experience and the log I kept during the whole process in case they didn’t want to do their part and it did. Dropped off my documents to social security in their drop off box on 4/12 to ensure there would no damage or lost documents. Called social security on 7/28. She took my number and name and sent an email to Mr. Lopez to see status of my document. Call should be no later than Friday 7/30 Got a call from mr Lopez on 7/29 saying my documents should be sent via ups in the next 3-5 days and replacement card will be sent in 2-3 weeks Received the new social security card on 8/9. However, not my important documents. 11/23: called mr. lopes regarding my lost documents and was told they sent it out and it was returned back to them damaged. Said he will contact UPS to see what happened? He said he will call me 11/24 to see if theirs a guard in and I can pick up my passport while they check on replacing my marriage certificate. 11/24 never got a call 12/1: called and they said Monday’s I can come by because there is a guard then. Sadly. To be continued!

I don't know. I think you need to go back to the Social Security office.
We had to go, stand in line and wait, though everyone is very pleasant once you get to them, which is a relief after the line. It is my understanding that they do not make appointments online nor by phone. They will however consider an appointment after a written letter, depending on if you have a disability or special need.

Yea if you get to the S.S. office at 9:30 am sharp you will be called first thing but be there when it opens or you'll have to wait a while in line...
