'was on the phone over 35 minutes to make a simple name change appointment for local Admin. Online I'm on a wild goose chase trying to schedule this appointment. A suggestion is each location have their own phone number and more employees to answer those phone calls.

Got there super early before they even opened the doors and got in line! Once I was inside I got to go straight to a window and get my stuff take care of. Friendly and helpful staff. I suggest you arrive early or don’t be upset if you have to wait to be seen.

How can I make an appointment in Ventura SS office?

Janet Lawry | Sep 19, 2018

In order to make an appointment, you have to call the 1-800 number located on the site. Keep in mind, it's the national number, so everyone is calling that number to make an appointment. So expect to wait for more than an hour. Another way, is to come in and check-in at the kiosk, and hit "make an appointment." Keep in mind, you won't be able to make it on the kiosk itself. It will give you a number, and you'll have to wait for that number. Either way, expect a wait, so maybe just go in as a walk-in and be seen that day.

HOW DOES ONE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? ARE YOU INSISTING THAT WE WASTE OUR TIME WAITING IN LONG LINES? IS IT TOO DIFFICULT TO MANAGE APPOINTMENTS? IS THAT WHY IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE ONE? DO WE HAVE TO MAKE A TRIP INTO THE OFFICE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Why does no one answer the phone? 45 min wait to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT at the SSA site! Does anyone even read these messages?

If you go to the website and fill out your info for whatever you need, you can just walk in. Its really easy. Also, these are things that all responsible citizens should take care of. A more positive spin on it is that yes its busy, but isnt that great that the masses are following the guidelines to be responsible members of society? Modern day America and California especially are so overpopulated. At least they are being responsible.

I don't know the exact reason but i read that the employees were happier and felt they preferred working from home. Try and make their employees as important as the people they serve. Their phone lines are open.

There is a scam going around, they are using robo calls to contact people. Do not answer those calls. Contact SSA office by phone or in person if you feel the calls are legit.

I am 67 age (1 year over my eligibility for retirement benefits). If I apply now for retirement benefits asking for 6 months of previous delayed benefits will my continuous future benefit $ be based on today's $ (2019) or the lessor $ of 2018 ?

I would say that you would be paid 2018 benefits for 2018 & 2019 benefits for 2019.
