Great spot for some hiking above the ocean. Can get hot up there. Bring water The Russian gulch trail is mostly in shade. The 15 mold round trip to Pole will take all day and while footing is easy (basically a former road) the elevation gain is challenging. A lovely preserve and thanks to all the work by the people who worked to get it preserved and maintain it

Beautiful trails, great views of the hills and coast. Hiked on Memorial Day and the trail wasn't busy at all, parking lot had good turnover at 11am and was half empty at 2pm. Beware of the ticks which are currently extremely abundant - we removed 15+ ticks from our dog in spite of being careful to not let her walk outside the path.

pretty trails, super windy, wish we had more time to hike more of it

The history or this location has been influenced by Russian fur traders, ranchers, farmers, lumberjacks, and more recently preservationists. In any case, on-site parking provides easy access to trails throughout the park. The views up and down the coasts are awesome. It is a great place for bird watching as well.

It's not a terribly steep incline, we took our time waking up and it wasn't super challenging.
