Excellent park with lots of impressive natural stone structures , a very nice boardwalk that meanders through a marshy pond and a nature center with guides who are always friendly and very educational. If you take the pond loop you will also encounter a blind owl and a coopers hawk in an outdoor pen. CHECK THE VISITING HOURS BEFORE YOU VISIT !!! this is NOT a 24/7 park !!!

Awesome nature preserve! Saw tons of birds, turtles, and a muskrat. Plus the cat followed us on the boardwalk!!

The trails here are very well marked and you can get a trail map at the trailhead. The terrain is very steep in places but the trails around the cabins and ponds are easy with beautiful scenery.

Wahkeena Nature Preserve is a beautiful and peaceful place. I would highly recommend a walk here. It seems very family friendly. The boardwalk is floating so you do have to keep your balance here.

Nope, it is free to visit during its hours of operation! The local guides are super helpful and can provide you with free pamphlets to make your hike more educational. (They do sell some non-alcoholic "birch beer" as a way to help raise funds, so it doesn't hurt to support them in that way!)
Wahkeena is a nature preserve so no pets are allowed.
