Perhaps the officers patrolling can ask if we have a permit (which we did!) first before threatening to fine us $250 each. It felt so abrasive that we left. Honestly, it's not worth the hassle to even view. The roped off area is small and the current trees block the view.

interesting, but you're limited quite extensively on what you can see - even though it's permit only, you are only permitted to view the falls from a little lookout that's part of the path

Beautiful area with a short easy hike! Need to request a permit up to 2 weeks in advance. I got mine quickly, but was off season.
