Haven't even purchased yet, but 2 stars for the "Build Your Yurt" site. There is no way to save your yurt that you created. So, after you have placed all your doors and windows, and decided on correct sizes, etc, there is no way to create an account and save it. I have had to build my yurt 3 times now. And after clicking on a question about walls, I went to go back to the yurt that I just created (again!!!) and it is gone. The placement of the windows and doors is crucial in designing your yurt and its great that they have a 3D in which you can see where they are. BUT, you can't save it. So even if you print it out, you don't have the option of seeing all around it, and you can't go back on their site and access it. It's like you keep inventing the wheel, over and over again.

I assembled our 16' yurt as an extra heated bedroom on our daughter's property. I worked mostly alone but was guided by the very clear and complete instructions provided by Pacific Yurts. Our yurt was truly a joy to build and is a joy to use. The fine quality of the materials and craftsmanship made opening each parcel of components into yet another Christmas morning.

We purchased our yurt in 2001 and constructed it in the middle of our 37 acres. Our place is called Namekagon Waters Retreat and we have enjoyed meeting the many people who have booked over the years. It was time to replace the sidewalls, roof and dome and we finished the final touches this evening, ready for this weekend’s guest. It is best to vent through the wall rather than through the roof. This can be done using a simple boot flashing in the same way a wood stove is vented.

If you are unable to pick the yurt up here at our facility in Oregon we can arrange for it to be shipped to you via Common Carrier. The cost of shipping will vary depending on the size of yurt, combination of features chosen for the yurt and the destination. Our sales team can help you figure that out. Our product is designed so that people with no prior experience can assemble it themselves, but some people prefer to hire a local contractor to assemble the yurt for them.
Lofts are typically freestanding structures built inside the yurt, which do not rely on the yurt itself for structural stability. You can work with a local carpenter or contractor to design a loft that best suits your needs. We can also provide some photos of various lofts that customers have constructed inside their yurts.
