I always feel accomplished and more energized after an Orangetheory class. The classes challenge me to push myself a little each time and the coaches help me keep going with their encouragement. And I'm enjoying this location. The staff is really friendly, helpful and just has great energy! If I tried to do this on my own, it would not be the same or have the same results... Glad to be back after my 2+year break due to the pandemic!

Coaches are great. I’ve had a very positive experience. The customer service is wonderful and my wife and I have had good experiences with the front desk customer service as well

In general I believe the Orangetheory Fitness program works. I describe it to others as having a time share with a personal trainer. I couldn't afford a personal trainer all the time nor did I need them every time, but in a group class setting, it's great that the coach is there. They describe the workout to you; keep watch on the timing; give you alternatives to the exercises; correct your form; give you encouragement; and motivate you to improve by pushing you to walk at a steeper angle, run faster, row with more watts at a controlled stroke pace, lift with appropriate weights, and do body weight exercises with good form. Orangetheory Fitness - University City is my home gym. I have been a member since 2019 a couple months after they opened. I started with the Basic (4 class/month) program and over time upgraded to their Elite (8 class/month) program and now their Premier (unlimited) program. It is walkable from UPenn, Drexel, and Penn Medicine. It is my home gym because I go 3-5 times per week around my work schedule. I do have the option to go to other locations at no additional cost near my home when I want to go on a weekend or a day off from work. I have used my membership in other states at no additional cost. And I have been to locations internationally for a nominal drop in cost. I have met staff in many locations, but there is something to the group of people you see more often at your home gym. The OTF staff here are energizing. Greetings as you enter make you feel very welcome. Coaches are engaging in the studio. And the members support each other. I don't feel like I am competing with any other member in the studio. We're all here doing the same thing to the best of our ability and cheering each other on with smiles, fist bumps and at times applause. If you like group exercise in a lively environment, this is a place to try out. If you don't want to or know how to put together your own exercise program, this is a place to try out. If you are new, unsure and scared of exercise as I was, this is a place to try out. And if this review convinced you to come in, let them know I sent you.

The monthly membership is a little pricy for my grad school budget, but I think for what you get it's totally worth it for me. When I go to a regular gym I am indecisive about what equipment to use and for how long. With Orangetheory, all you have to do it show up. For the next hour you get a full body workout, and being in a group of people pushes me to work out harder than if I were by myself. No two Orangetheory classes are the same, the company alters them every day to consistently have you working out different muscles and to build your strength and endurance. You wear a heartrate monitor that is tuned to your unique cardiovascular health and the goal is to get at least 12 splat points (being in the orange zone) which means you burn more calories in the next 24 hours. Seeing how my body is working in real time as I work out helps me get to know my body more. I choose to pay for the unlimited monthly. I like the freedom of picking up as many classes as I want to without wondering how many I have left for the month. If you go to the gym more than twice a week I think it's worth it. I probably go 3-4 times a week, sometimes much more, sometimes less. But having the monthly unlimited means I don't have to think about it. My life is busy and I have lots of other decisions I have to make on a daily basis. The easiest part of my day is seeing which class fits into my schedule for the day, registering, showing up, and walking out feeling awesome. The instructors are all amazing, the music keeps you upbeat, and the workouts are always different. Any fitness level can join, and if you stay consistent you really see results.

When wearing our heart rate monitors, your real-time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. Where do you park

Latoya Jones | Jan 9, 2021
Samuel Adams | Jan 10, 2021

To the best of my knowledge, there is a paid parking garage and hourly street parking on Filbert street, which is parallel to Market. There is also some free parking on 36th (on the west side of the street) but it is pretty limited.
