Hi! My name is Kat Turner, I’m the chef and one of the partners at Highly Likely. We’re so sorry for this inconvenience. Unfortunately we’ve received 2 counterfeit $100 bills in only 6 weeks; one passed the pen-test and the other was simply accepted by one of our teammates who didn’t recognize that it was fake. It’s very possible that the guests who presented us with these bills didn’t even know that they were fakes, and merely ended up with them by sheer bad luck. Regardless, at this time we aren’t accepting 100 dollar bills until we can put a better system in place for detecting counterfeits, please know that it’s certainly not personal. In response to your feelings that the ham and cheese sandwich is overpriced, I can see how you might think that. For me, I strive to support local bakers who in turn are revitalizing CA wheat farming, and farms that raise animals sustainably and humanely for meat and dairy. My hope is that our guests see the value in this.
