I have been a patient of Baptist health at the FAU medical clinic in Bethesda East for nearly 2 years now. Since March of 2022 I have not been able to get a return phone call from any medical doctor until Friday September 9th… In February I was bleeding to death and when I was released my doctors were told I must have monthly bloodwork to check my hemoglobin. In seven months They have only checked my blood once and that was in March right after I got out of the hospital. I’ve been leaving frantic messages from July because the blood orders they wrote were not sent to the correct lab… since the second week of July until today I’ve been calling leaving messages desperate messages trying to get someone to return a phone call. The other day I discovered I now have hepatitis B. Probably from the 38 hours of blood transfusions when I was staying in the hospital in February, and unfortunately because they were not monitoring my blood work, and I was on a biologic medication for seven months that helped destroy my liver because you’re not supposed to be taking the injectable if you have hepatitis B. And I show up for my appointment today and the doctors are acting like I had no right to expect good medical care from their facility. They were completely unconcerned that I had no return phone calls and no blood work for six months when it was required for them to take it every month as per my discharge orders from Bethesda East where my medical doctors have their offices. I have never seen anything so pathetic in my life. Fortunately I will not be returning t for more mishandling of my medical care…I am off Obamacare and on Medicare now. I expect and demand good medical care. If not I’ll just find another doctor. There’s 10 on every street corner… not a difficult task

Mom was admitted after a fall that broke her hip. Surgery went well but after that, everything went downhill. While we put in many daisy and sunflower commendations, the biggest negative issue was the appearance of a hideous bed sore. The prevention steps were not done causing mom great pain for several weeks. This totally preventable wound was allowed to happen in spite of us being by mom’s side most of the allowed visiting hours. We were forbidden from moving mom or helping her to the toilet so we had to wait and make repeated requests for help. A specific charge nurse took a dislike for us causing even more frustration. Managing mom’s pain was especially challenging since she would not verbalize her pain but her behavior showed she had serious pain, increasingly from the bed sore! Arguments with staff over pain and sundowners were especially infuriating. We are grateful for the good people who cared for mom! But that bedsore caused her serious pain and was completely unnecessary!

If you want a loved one to have unnecessary surgery where a clown resident has input on the matter then this is definitely the place to go. My father was admitted for acid reflux and Dr. Alexander, a resident ( lol ), pushed hard for a colonoscopy followed by an appendectomy. Unfortunately for his selfish agenda, I’ve worked in surgery for two decades. My father has an inverted appendix so naturally he wanted to take it out so that he can look like a big shot in front of medical students and then talk about it during his boards. This appendix was completely asymptomatic and about a foot below where his pain was. Ethical surgeons treat symptoms, not films. This is the road my loved one was sent down. I cannot imagine what it’s like for people to go in there and not have somebody educated to consult with. Entirely too common in Florida.

Testing Sites in your Area. Make an appointment with CVS.
At the moment no visitors. That may change but unsure of when for right now.
Yes if not by ambulance
No
Call your provider Humana they should have a roster of physician who specializes in your request .
Sorry I don't know about that.
Yes
no unless he is a service dog
Yes I am pretty sure you can I would call first
you can call the hospital main number let them know you are trying to pay your bill they will direct you to the rite person
I'm not sure you need to call and ask someone
They know what they do if not you can go with another specialist to see if the doctors did their job well
Most hospitals allow 24/7 visiting (at least one person/advocate with you) so I guess the answer is “any time normal people are awake.” I wouldn’t show up at 3AM or anything (unless they ask you to).
