Lived in Lantana for over 40 years, the current lantana police are USELESS. A complete WASTE of tax payer money. Mailbox theft (credit card) is RAMPID and the police do NOTHING. They just come up with excuses. Amazed the “detective(s)” can even find their desks, they basically refuse to do their jobs. The don’t deserve a single star. USELESS.

You can take them to most police departments. They have boxes to drop off unwanted medication. If you call them before you go. They can tell you if they have one or not. I don't think Lantana has a box. I know they do have dates you can take them and someone will take they for you. I'm pretty sure Delray gas a box all the time.

I would suggest maybe having another officer to get involved in the case like his superior. If worst case scenario I would actually speak to a shift supervisor. And if you really wanna rattle some cages I would recommend going to city Hall. Oh you can talk to internal affairs letting them know that the case was improperly handled by whomever. And if you really want to get technical you have the right for autopsy so file a motion to suppress evidence and any other thing they did before his death like paperwork or footage if there is any. Law library my friend or a well knowledgeable attorney$$$.
