I want to indicate specially the support that Shawn and Corene provided for me while I was going through my rehabilitation. UNORGANIZED and DISAPPOINTING - Let me start by saying that this is the first negative Google I have ever written. My mom was a patient at Heartland 3 years ago and had a favorable experience with the PT team. She needed repeat services for a different matter and chose to return to Heartland again. They accepted her as a patient. When she arrived, she found the facility under construction and in disarray. After calling and complaining, they did relocate her to room, with a bed with no head elevation, broken TV and loud AC. After evaluating the situation, we made arrangements to relocate her immediately. A few days later, we needed copies of her discharge instructions. At first, they said that they were shredded. After some pushing they "located" them, but, would not release them to her for 7 days per facility "procedure". We are disappointed that Heartland even accepted a new patient in the middle of a major construction. This commentary is about their administration and does not reflect the quality of the actual therapists, who were excellent several years ago.

Last Monday, my Dad took a fall at his current ALF…He was rushed to Boca Regional, and after several days, was transferred to Heartland Rehabilitation Facility. Our family has been in a state of shock and profound sadness, because my Father has always been there for us through our entire lives.—and we felt helpless. However, from the moment we walked through the door to visit him, and were greeted by Roz at the reception desk, our stress immediately began to fade. We underwent the mandatory CoVid protocols, then spoke with a Senior Administrator Janet, who went over my Dad’s file in great detail—but more importantly, with great compassion. As we walked to his room, we couldn’t help but notice how clean and immaculate the hallways and rooms were. The floors had such a bright gleam from the overhead lights, that they were blinding. You could literally eat off those floors! We then met his nurse Cornelia, and were further comforted! What a Godsend! The fact my dad ended up at Heartland was pure luck…he tested positive for CoVid at the hospital, and Heartland was the only facility with an open bed taking CoVid patients. I know it’s their job—a job they do exceptionally well—but the level of comfort and peace of mind that they gave my family…we can NEVER repay! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! To anyone in our position….at a difficult time, with difficult decisions, Heartland Rehabilitation Facility is the one EASY decision you can make!
