Very nice visit to Ellarslie today. Two artist friends had work on display so I went with friends to see their work. The museum is easily accessible through the park and the road was set up for easy parking. Staff/volunteer members were fun and informative. The display for the art exhibit comprised two floors. Most were framed work gathered nicely on the walls and a few stand alone sculptures. Some of the work was incredible. Also on view are many of the museums permanent collection. And of course a stop in the well stocked gift shop$$$. Everybody in my small group of three made purchases. Unfortunately, there was no A/C but the place was very well ventilated and although the sign on the door suggested masks, the staff went without such attire. After my glasses fogged up I removed mine as well. I only saw two other guests on this hot Friday afternoon.

My husband is an artist (acrylics) and partipates in the Juried Art shows that they have each year. Since he has been in the shows for the last 6 years, I have had the pleasure to accompany him to look at both the pieces in the show and their permanent collection. It has two stories and 5 rooms used for shows and three for their permanent collection. Their permanent collection contains mostly tile, pottery and other media that was created in Trenton during the heyday of manufacturing.
