Manager was rude. They want to give dogs away for no fee, but won't let me take any home. I saw a few dogs I wanted and they were arguing with me.

It was closing time and I tried to drop off a kitten I found off Becker Rd.. The manager refused the kitten because I live in PSL. I explained to her that I was allergic to cats and that I owned 4 dogs and this facility was closer to my house. She offered food and litter to keep the cat overnight until I could take it to the St. Lucie county facility. She clearly was more concerned about leaving on time, then the welfare of the kitten. This will be the last time I pick up an animal off the side of the road.

I’m adopting a Kitty 3 years ago, and is time for his rabies shot, can I bring him to put the rabies shot there?
Hello. Our shelter is open seven days/week for you to visit our adoption center and see our available shelter dogs. We also have an outstanding online pet database available on our website that you can peruse at your convenience from the comfort of your own home. www.hstc1.org/pet-search.
They can rent out traps to catch them if needed, animal control and can pick them up and they can be altered, vaccinated and rereleased in the area.
Yes, you can donate to the shelter or you can donate to either thrift store.
Hi Cynthia. Domestic pigs are allowed as pets in Martin County. Please visit our website www.hstc1.org/public to learn about acquiring the correct pet license for the County. You'll also need to check directly with your community, should you live within a Home Owner's Association with their own set of rules that are often more strict than basic county or city ordinances. If you have any additional questions, I urge you to call us directly at (772) 223-8822 for the most prompt reply.
Adoption fee for a bunny is $25. When u adopt u will be given feeding instructions.
Go in person and you can.
Hello, yes we do give monthly treatment. Please give our shelter a call at 772-223-8822. We can look at your pet's medical summary to make sure it's all up to date.
Hi Carmen, it really depends. We get all ages, sizes, and breeds of dogs in on a regular basis. You can view our website to see the dogs we have available for adoption. It's LIVE which means when we get a new animal available for adoption, it will go directly on our website. You can see it here: www.hstc1.org/pet-search.
$50. If they are over 7yrs old the adoption fee is waived.
I volunteer and do not know that info. You would have to call.
You would need to call them and ask..
They do accept guinea pigs because we have adopted several
You must be a Martin Co. resident to surrender an animal to the HSTC. You will also need ID.
You should call them, but it's a great place if they'll take your strays.
We are in palm city which is in martin county I'm sure she can come look if she wants to adopt
Sometimes there is but not at the moment. There are a lot of all types of animals waiting for their furever homes.
They are normally fed Hills Science Diet dry with some canned mixed in.
Yes MUST call for appointment maybe online application is another way
Hi Lely. We are always open to taking homeless pets in Martin County, however if these free-roaming cats are thriving in their current environment, we don't necessarily want to disrupt that either. We also provide TNVR (trap-neuter-vaccinate-release) to Martin and St. Lucie Counties, which is a program similar to the "catch-and-release" program another Google user mentioned in her reply. You can learn more about TNVR on our website at https://hstc1.org/Community-TNVR and also use the contact information on that page if you're interested in pursuing that route. You can also call our shelter directly at (772) 223-8822.
I think it depends on the type of animal your adopting
Yes
Hi Sherry. Please visit our website to learn more and register. https://hstc1.org/Disaster-Preparedness
I know they have a lot of cats and would appreciate someone fostering.
They run specials once in a while...best 2 check with them directly
Go ask them directly, get their phone number and call.... I think at 13 you can volunteer... but I could be wrong .... Good luck
You would want to contact Sarah Fisher on Monday and ask.
Believe so but not positive
Just bring the dog to the Humane Society they want me to take it
Hi Amelia. So sorry about your dog! Please call our shelter at (772) 223-8822. Thank you.
Hi Cynthia, we provide the rabies vaccination to all of our pets before they become available for adoption. We also include this vaccination in our public spay/neuter service You can learn more about this at www.hstc1.org/public. At this time, however, we do not offer only a rabies vaccination on a regular basis. I know we did have a special rabies vaccination day in the spring which was advertised all over our website and social media.
Cost me $25 or $30 can't remember which. Very caring there
Hi Rita, we do offer county pet licensing! You can find the fee schedule on our website at https://www.hstc1.org/public. Alternatively, you can call our shelter at (772) 223-8822 and press 0 when prompted by the menu options.
Hi Barbara. We do offer a Public Low-Cost Spay/Neuter program at our shelter. It's $100 for dogs, and includes: Spay/neuter surgery; Microchip & registration (24 Pet Watch); Rabies vaccination (dogs and cats must be at least 4 months old at the time of the surgery for the vaccination); Pain injection; and a Nail clipping. This information is also available at www.hstc1.org/public. Please call us directly to make an appointment.
I am sorry for your loss. They would probably use the dog beds but you should call them direct about the medicine. If they dont take it maybe you could give it to a friend.
Hi Linda, in cooperation with Martin County Animal Control, we are the only organization in Martin County to offer TNVR (Trap - Neuter - Vaccinate - Release) to our community. When feral cats are picked up by Animal Control and brought to our shelter, our clinic neuters and vaccinates them. Our veterinarian even evaluates them to make sure they're healthy! We put a notch on their right ear tip to indicate to Animal Control that the cat has been neutered and vaccinated already. Once these cats have recovered, Animal Control safely returns the cats to their outdoor colonies. For more information about Community TNVR please visit our website at www.hstc1.org/community-tnvr. If you have additional questions, please call us directly at (772) 223-8822.
Get in touch with the Humane Society, they can give you excellent guidance.
Probably best to call and discuss matter with personnel directly.

For what?
Hi Mary, our humane society is governed and funded just by our Martin County community. We are independent from any other humane society in the country, including the Humane Society of the United States. Thus, we are not familiar with the locations of other humane societies outside of our surrounding area.
I'd call the office for more info
Call to see what's available but no appointment is required
Every now and again I'll get a couple birds in but not on hand you'd have to go on their website or go in it's a hit or miss with birds
Probably. Call and ask as they may only have certain hours for vet care.
I would call their office for that type of info.
Yes they do take in bunnies.
