The museum is quite impressive with lots of hands-on displays. The history is interesting as well.

Very cool museum to enjoy on the cheap. Looks at the history of railroads in the Omaha area. Has a few interactive exhibits and a model train. Cool information and layout in an awesome historic building. Definitely recommend a visit.

From a 42 year previous emplyee, I enjoyed seeing so much history, and the abundant displays. Once a railroader, always a railroader!

A model train that runs on tracks along the ceiling
It is free, but they do suggest a donation of $5.00 per person if able. It is a wonderful museum and the donations keep it going. Enjoy!!
Nearby at Kenefick Park in Omaha.
The museum is free to enter. They do have a suggested donation if $5 per adult.
Yes, they have ramps outside to get in and an elevator inside to move floors
Try Ancestry.com they have an amazing amount of information.
Free parking two blocks west on the street. West of the city park also.
There is a simulator upstairs that takes you through all of the steps, with several screens that surrounds and you can sit on the seat and see what the inside would be like. It is my son's favorite part.oh, and usually the museum is only open Thursday thru Saturday from 10 am to 4pm unless of special events
Call Human resources historical employment director.
Thursday through Saturday 10am -4pm, same hours year round
