I lost my title. What do I do to get another one

Need to get a new title

I am relocating and need the title sent to the dmv in that state.

I am the Executor of my moms estate. I can't find the title to her car and was told by the insurance co. to put the car in my name. How do I get a new title in my name. Thanks

Take your title from the state you are coming from. Your driver's license, and cash or card. And ofcourse your mask, it is required to wear one.

If you paid out of state sales tax, you'll want to also fill out the Claim of Tax Paid Under Protest (MVR-609) when you register to get that refunded. I've always found the DMV agents at this location to be friendly and helpful; they can walk you through what's next and any changes from previous DMV processes and policies.

I don't believe that this office covers that service. They handle items related to titles (one line) and registrations/other vehicle-specific items (separate line). There's also a separate window just for dealerships to take care of their required actions. Replacement IDs can be requested through a NC DMV license office or online through it's website. There's no indication on the website how long it takes to receive a replacement, but most other DMV documents are processed and mailed within 3-4 weeks.

You should be as long as they signed in the correct place and the same way it is listed on the title. Just give them the ppwrk and don't offer unnecessary information. Like "he in Mexico"

You will also need your NJ registration when you go to the title/tag office. But before you can register your car, you will first need to switch your NJ license to a NC license at a licensing office. And you'll need to transfer your insurance to NC as well before you go. Hope this helps!

You need to transfer the vehicle into your name, hopefully she left a will leaving you everything, probably need a copy of her death certificate as well. Go to the DMV they should be able to help you,nor give them a call.

You have to go to the Department of motor vehicles. They open 8:30am and you need to try and be there early because there is always a queue.

Yes. Contact your lienholder on the car, tell them you are moving to NC and they will send you documents to register the car and add them as lienholder.

My first stop would be to ask a car inspection facility

Check with inspection station or call dmv. I think you have to get a tag with a 10-day sticker, then get inspection and then return to dmv for regular tag (sticker), but there may be some provision for your sitiation.

I'm not sure if they will notarize power of attorney forms. If they do, you will probably wait in line a long time and you will definitely pay a fee. Your best bet would go to a bank that offers notary services for free. The SunTrust Bank on Kildaire Farm Road in Cary offers free notary services even if you are not a customer there. You could call a bank near you you and find out if they offer notary services.

Yes, they can do that here, but you need to get a form from your doctor (must be original, not a copy) and bring it to their office hard copy (not faxed or electronic).
