Good place to get stuck in the mud. They expect you to dump yard debris at a place where most vehicles will get stuck. Gravel stops and then the yard debris mound is 100 yards away through the mud. It’s a bad design. The director, Joe and manager, Sam are poor problem solvers and unhelpful.

I have been going to the New Hanover County Landfill for over 5 years now. I cannot appropriately express my gratitude to each and every employee that has helped me over the years. Every single person has been extremely kind and helpful. Thank you so much to every employee at the Landfill for your hard work. You all make the experience top notch!!!!

Saturday hrs are 6:30-12pm If you don't want to wait in line 20+ minutes entering and almost an hour exiting it is HIGHLY suggested that you arrive before 8:30 - 9:00. Following instructions and having payment ready is also recommended.
