We recently held a family reunion with 35+ people at the Nu Wray Inn and it was just the perfect place for this type of event. In general, I love the Inn. It has so much character and it's been beautifully redone and maintained. I love the spaces and the nooks and crannies and the features. It has a few wrinkles - so if you're a white robe hotel kind of person, there are probably better places for a reunion for you. Why is it perfect for a reunion? 1. The kitchen. Having access to a full commercial kitchen (and dishwasher) was awesome. 2. Having the big dining room all to ourselves. We could spread out and have our memorabilia and photos and games staged for the entire event. And could spread out the buffet for dinners. If you've ever tried to feed 35 people at a time, this is such a plus. 3. The multiple gathering areas. We had music on the upper balcony, coloring in the upstairs sitting area, games in the back yard, and old folks reminiscing on the front porch. 4. The town. A grocery store within walking distance is always a bonus. But the charm of walking around the town, getting a coffee or lunch, or grabbing a beer was a good add. 5. Western North Carolina. Hiking, museums, wineries, Asheville... the variety of options is also a value-add for a reunion. And last but not least - the proprietors. Christy and Jill and their team gave us the space and trusted us to take care of their Inn and have a great family reunion. And we did. We have been to a lot of places for our reunions and so far the Nu Wray Inn is at the top of the list. Not sure we can beat it at another location, so we might just have to come back.

The Nu Wray Inn was the perfect setting for our wedding in Burnsville. The ability to rent the entire inn and have your party stay on-site made it an obvious venue choice for our weekend of festivities. The entire staff was responsive and helpful from the time we first toured the facility, booked our reservation, and especially throughout the weekend of our wedding. The setting is perfect for a wedding as there are multiple options on the property for where a ceremony can take place. The Inn is full of such character and charm that it reminds you of an earlier time but comes with all of the modern amenities possibly needed to host the wedding of your dreams. It was obvious to our entire party that the Inn is taken care of and operated by individuals that will go out of their way to ensure that your time in Burnsville will keep bringing you back time and time again. Forever thankful for the Nu Wray Inn for providing an unforgettable wedding weekend! - Chris & Jess

I stopped in with my mother this past August, as she wanted to show me the magical little Inn she'd been to 50 years prior! The young man working was more than accommodating. He gave us a tour of different rooms, talked with us about pricing as well as the Inn's history, was kind enough to take our picture in front of their beautiful fireplace, and even let us eat our lunch outside in the garden. All this and we weren't even paying customers. I will definitely be returning, and look forward to spending a night at this charming little spot in the future.

We took friends to eat at Newray when we first moved to,Asheville. I was just asking if you still serve lunch or dinners and if so your scheduled times. Would we need reservations?
