Hotel Indigo Detroit Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Hotel lobby looks nice. But looks can be deceiving. Overbooked and we couldn’t even get both of the rooms we reserved. We paid a total of $600 for both rooms and only got 1. There were 6 people in our group that had to share 2 queen beds. Cots we’re unavailable due to them being a “fire hazard”. We called down to have them bring up extra pillows and blankets and then we left for a concert. Got back late at night to no extra pillows and blankets. Front desk staff said that they were completely out. Which wasn’t even true because someone else found some. So either they just don’t care about their customers or they’re just lazy. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels that were MUCH cheaper and I’ve had much better experiences. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Try the Westin next door.

Honestly this hotel was just ok. A bit more like a motel than a hotel. The bedding was clean and so were the floors but the lack of lighting in the bathroom was near impossible to get ready in and the shower was like being in a tomb, with a drain that didn't drain! There was absolutely no soap in our room...seriously none. Even a hostel has soap! There was a sitting area with a huge space with a random table in the middle of the floor, a chair and footstool and a desk and chair. It was so weird having such a large space and barely anything in it, but it was nice to have room to put our suitcases down. The staff are wonderful and go out of their way to be helpful. I was quite grateful to all of them and their kindness.

Great location and good price. Some parts of the hotel are nice but others are very rundown, like the elevators. Slow check in and valet took some time. The rooms are pretty small and our comforter had a stain. It also looked like they fixed the drywall around the light fixture and didn’t finish putting the light back together or really clean up the drywall mess. Overall it was decent.

THE STAFF here is AMAZING!! Super quick check in! Greeted with a smile and popcorn if we would’ve wanted. Super sweet gal checking us in. She recommended a great restaurant!! Today has also been perfect. The sweet guy and gal at the desk was also great. Recommended a perfect spot for brunch! The room was very clean, bed was comfy! Location was perfect for what we needed! I travel a lot and the experience here was over the top!! Way to go!! 😃
