I couldn’t make it to the fishing pier but it was worth to watch the sunrise. So many sea shells and the little rocks to collects. The beach was covered with some garbages which made me feel bad about it.

One of the best places to catch big fish. Entrance to the pier is $10 per rod . Also the parking lot is $7 or $10 depending on the day. If you are looking to catch the big ones aim for 5pm ahead and be near the pole 14 to the end of the pier.

I used to come here with my father a lot as a kid and it was great. Stopped coming for maybe 15 years but just started coming back again. I just wanted to say Kathy is awesome ( I believe that’s her name ). She is always honest with people about what’s been going on whether people are catching or not. Any other pay to fish pier will always say “Yeah they’re catching fish left and right” just to get you to pay even if there is no action. She has no problem letting everyone know if its slow or if there is even nothing going on. She has a set voicemail on the number that gives a report of the previous day. Just yesterday I was there and I was out real far for a few hours with nothing but a bite or two. As Kathy made her usual rounds on the cart bringing out bait and snacks to everyone she was surely disappointed that no one was catching much of anything. She told me that they day before everyone caught so many stripers but they were much closer to the shore. I guess most people think the farther you go out the deeper it is the more fish but that’s not true at all. She said she wants some people to try upfront by the shore and being that I was just about to leave I said I’ll give it a try. Kathy is so nice she gave me a ride on the cart up to the front of the pier. I was the closest one to the shore. Within 5-10 minutes of casting out I was on a fish. Haven’t caught many stripers in my life so landing my biggest striper so far was really exciting. I caught two more after that one of them was landed and released the other got off before it was netted. I left shortly after as I already had one in the cooler but overall just a great experience. Kathy really cares about her guests and does what she can to make them have a good time. I would give 10 stars if I could!

This was our family’s first time at the Keansburg fishing pier. Although we didn’t catch any fish, I personally learned a lot. The folks for the most part who come here to fish are quite nice. Bonus points that you can order food to be delivered to you right on the pier! The nice family fishing near our group ordered from UJ’s Asian Bistro and gave us a menu. I haven’t fished in years and I felt like my fishing day was comprised of a few epic fails since I haven’t even cast a line in a very long time. However, you live and learn and I left with tons of knowledge that I can apply to my next fishing adventure. I realized after the fact that the poles available for rental are set up for fluke and blue fish. I also learned bunker bait is best for catching striped bass and I learned how to cut it up differently for a different catch. I want to invest in a decent pole as well. I’ve caught fish in the past but mostly in freshwater, so saltwater fishing is less familiar to me. It’s $8 for each adult to enter the pier and $6 to rent a pole. If you bring your own pole it’s a 2 pole per person limit and it’s strictly enforced. They have fresh and frozen bait for sale at the shop when you pay to enter the pier. The view is pretty and it’s always fun to sit by the water and relax. You get a wristband when you pay to play so you’re free to come and go as you please. The cute little amusement and water parks are good for families with kids. The folks who run the pier don’t mess around but they seem very genuine and Kathi rides the cart up and down to check on everyone and sell snacks, bait, etc. They let us use a dolly to carry some of our gear which was very nice. Don’t know when I’ll be back but when I return I feel like I’ll be a little wiser for the wear! No alcohol allowed, be advised. As much as I’d like to throw back a cold one with a line in the water, I respect this rule. I feel like the crowd would be much rowdier if you could drink there. There’s a bar right off the pier where you can grab a drink if you want. Bring your umbrella, beach chair, refreshments, and sunscreen! Happy fishing!
